Mill Mates Plus™
Dispersion
and Milling Media Based Upon Ceria
(Ce) Stabilized TZP*
Engineered to routinely process high viscosity formulations up to 50,000 cps, including: Automotive and Allied Paints, Inks, Dyes and Pigments, Magnetic Materials, Coatings and Dielectrics, Frits, Glazes and Ceramics, Foodstuffs, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics and Toiletries. Mill Mates provide maximum shear and throughput with minimal media contamination and mill wear.
*TZP is an acronym for Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystals, a form of Zirconium Oxide.
Highly Engineered Performance
Mill Mates are based on Tetragonal zirconia Polycrystals (TZP). The superior micro-structure of this material produces a finer grain of more uniform size. These properties make possible a dispersion media with a higher fracture toughness, density and hardness. Compared to the closest competing product(s), Mill Mates last longer and require fewer re-charges. Using Mill Mates will reduce mill wear and lessen downtime for maintenance, while it speeds processing time.
For a Wide Range of Formulations
Mill Mates’ highly engineered microstructure results in a bead that is extremely round, tough, fracture and wear resistant and dense. Mill Mates become highly polished, resulting in very low friction and abrasive qualities. Industries benefiting from these qualities include:
| Features | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Tetragonal

| High density .............................. |
Maximum throughput in recirculation grinding |
Optimizing Mill Mates’ Mill Performance
Based on sieve analysis of nominal sizes, Mill Mates deliver a tighter size distribution than the closest competing product. This means more shear is available during processing.
To achieve optimum performance, bead surface area (a characteristic of bead size), together with agitation speed and throughput, must be balanced to the viscosity of the formulation. Other factors include:
